Dinner

My husband has always LOVED food.  I sometimes wonder if he loves me or just married me because I can cook :-)  So if he emails me a new recipe he knows it is only a matter of time before it shows up on his dinner plate. Not always as it was emailed so sometimes I have to point it out to him. This time I was pretty fast!  He only sent it to me this week and it was dinner tonight, although tweaked.

1 lb.  ground beef
1 lb. mild Italian sausage
1 egg
1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano  (be sure to drain the juice!)
1 diced onion
1 T. garlic powder
1 T. Italian seasonings
Salt and pepper to taste
5 Bell peppers cut in 1/2
mozzarella cheese
Your favorite pasta sauce

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Once you’ve drained the juice from your tomatoes, put them in a food processor with your onion.  Add this mixture to all your other ingredients in one big bowl and knead it all together.  Stuff into peppers. Place in a baking dish with a little tomato sauce and some Mozzarella cheese
4. Bake for 30 - 45 min
5. We served these with a side of steamed brocolli and cauliflower.  ( My kids love their veggies!)
