YNAB (explained inside :-) )

We are a one income family which sometimes can be very tricky.  My Dh does very well and I am excellent at pinching my pennies until they scream. :-) Occasionally I fall off the wagon as does my lovely husband and we need to climb back up.  Recently I felt like I never had enough of anything and when I sat down with a pen and paper it didn't make sense.  Something needed to change.

I was beginning to HATE the money managing program we were using.  The final straw was the day I went to open it and it "flipped out"  all of a sudden my path was invalid and it for some reason hadn't saved the last 3 YEARS of info that I had thought was being backed up daily.  grrr.. during one of my forced upgrades I had lost a bunch of features that I personally loved.  Yes I admit I hate things to change but sometimes I have a valid reason.  I began to search for something else.

I stumbled upon YNAB (You Need A Budget) it was so easy it couldn't work right?  Yep I have been marreid to an engineer to long!  I have been using it for 3 months and I love it.  I can not easily express just HOW much I love it.  It is incrediably easy to use and it doesn't build on usless old data but from where you are now.  I also love the fact that my little red alerts of going over budget in some random catagory are back!!  I do not like to see red.  It has kept me on track and I am breathing much easier.  The program is $60 and can be found at ynab.com

I do not benifit from this post in anyway other than to share the awesomeness of a program I have found and come to love.  Hope it helps you too.
