Bali Indonesia

Never thought I would end up there!  Lauren had a school trip for 8 weeks to Thailand.  We wanted to take Maya somewhere but between school and Chris's work schedule it came down to the last week we had.  So we had to find a short flight somewhere.  Oh and we also had to be back on Saturday BEFORE 1o'clock  so we could get Lauren!  Bali fit the bill.  We had also been wanting to try an all inclusive resort.

We chose Club Med.  The grounds of club med are immaculate and quite vast I might add.  Lots of green spaces and tons of flowers.  In the middle of the club is a big budda.  It was so peaceful sitting there listening to the waves of the ocean.

The beach was very beautiful.  Also included are water activities like snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, and wind surfing.  One could also indulge in my favorite past time at the beach--doing nothing and feeling sand in my toes.  We also took a sunset cruise.

There are several pools to indulge in but be warned the 'family' pool is also used for kids club recreation and adult classes so it is busy and noisy.  Not a place to loose yourself in the sun and a good book.

They had nightly shows that we enjoyed watching.  They have some amazing stunt people doing circ du solei acrobatics.  Those always amaze me!

The food.  Ugh pretty sure in the week we were there I gained 5 pounds!  While set up buffet style they did have some fancier plated dishes.  There was always tons of food and a very big variety.  Everything we ate we did like with the exception of one salad that caught one of us off guard with the squid :-)  Maya and I even squeezed in a cooking class.  Silly girls! We thought we would get a taste of what was going on.  We had no idea we would have our lunch!

Believe it or not alcohol is also included at club med although not "top shelf" Chris and I are not drinkers so we didn't care one way or the other.  Although while in Bali we did need to taste the local Balinese beer.  eh not our favorite but a neat experience non the less.

Chris and I also found time to go for a walk and we ended up in this beautiful park.  We wandered a little further and found a shopping center complete with Baskin Robbins and Starbucks, proving no matter how far you roam you are never far from familiar things!

We came home sun kissed and in time to pick Lauren up at the airport.
