Driving.

It has taken me 3 weeks but I am getting more comfortable behind the wheel. Still hate right turns but I am pretty sure my GPS knows that and tries to keep them all lefties!!!

One thing I will say is not only am I driving on the wrong side of the road I am also sitting on the wrong side of the road. Your perception is different and honestly I felt like I was learning all over again. And yes I still notice my kids sucking air when my perception is off and I am too close on the left side. This morning I heard Lauren go other line mom other line under her breath!  The car controls all flipped in addition to everything else. Lol I kid you not every single time I try to turn my turn signal on the wind shield wipers go. Chris was here for a few weeks in June/July and he said it's just as confusing when he went back home. Nice :). The next 3 years of my life will be a ball of confusion!

I was talking to a friend this morning going thru the same thing. She has a way with words and described the washer as 'doll sized' and her oven as an 'easy bake oven'. I have to say she is spot on in her descriptions.

We are getting into a pretty solid routine. Waiting for our stuff to arrive. Hopefully it will be here at the end of October.

  1. so, if the oven is 'easy bake' sized (and i saw the pictures, i believe you), how do you bake a turkey? or don't they do that there? or a good sized roast? are you going to need to crockpot a lot of your meals? do they do crock pots there? so much to get used to. i really thought (in my ignorance here) that your biggest issue with baking would be learning degrees C versus degrees F and doing measurements in metric. :( but once you get through that, to not have an oven big enough to work with. and to think i just bought a double oven stove. :( (notice, i am not even getting into the driving thing - that would take me forever to get used to, i think). (and it says i am going to be posting as awsome_sky. this is really grama, though, LOL. miss you sherri. from renee

  2. lol I didn't even know anyone was reading and I logged in this morning and saw your comment! I thought that was going to be my biggest issue too and it really isn't one to be taken lightly as 350 is now 176.7. on a dial no less. ugh I don't think there are any big turkeys in my future for the next few years. I do not have a crock pot although if I start to get company other than the guinea pigs from school I may have to invest in a roaster of some sort. its all a giant learning curve. I am pretty impressed as there have only been a few total meltdowns where one of us has wanted to go home and that was mostly at the beginning of the month. We are slowly getting there.
